Kynningartími fyrir nýja dansara + First Step Milonga – Tangoparty

Haldið í Kramhúsinu

Kvöldið hefst á kynningartíma fyrir nýja dansara kl. 20-21. Það þarf ekki að skrá sig fyrirfram, bara koma með eða án partners. Húsið opnar kl. 19.50 og kennslan hefst kl. 20.

Danskvöldið eða Milongan hefst kl. 21.00 og stendur til 23 eða lengur. Í boði verða léttar veitingar, opinn bar, ísbrjótur og hellingur af góðum töndum. Allir velkomnir, bæði nýir og vanir dansarar.
Aðgangseyrir 1.500,- ATH! Kynningartími er innifalinn í aðgangseyri.
1.000,- fyrir félaga í Tangófélaginu, félagar í áskrift greiða ekki aðgangseyri.

Kvöldið er tileinkað nýjum dönsurum og skipulagt af Tangóstudio í samstarfi við Tangófélagið.

First step milonga er haldin 4-6 sinnum á ári og er sérstaklega tileinkað nýjum dönsurum. Markmið kvöldsins er að hitta aðra dansara og eiga saman ánægjulegt kvöld. Allir velkomnir, bæði nýir og vanir dansarar.
Vanir dansarar vinsamlegast hafið eftirfarandi í huga:
  • Að aðlaga sig að getustigi þess sem þú dansar við, bæði þeir sem leiða og þeir sem fylgja.
  • Aldrei “kenna” þeim sem þú dansar við, né gefa umsögn um frammistöðu.
  • Að taka þátt í leikjum / uppákomum eins og aðrir gestir.

Try-out class for new dancers + First Step Milonga – Tangoparty

Venue: Kramhúsið (next to Bergstaðastræti 7).
The evening begins with a Try-out class for new dancers at 8-9 p.m. You do not need to register in advance, just come with or without a partner. The door opens at 19.50 and the class starts at 20.00. The dance evening or the Milonga starts right after the class and will last until 23 or longer. There will be light refreshments, an open bar, ice breakers and plenty of good tandas. All welcome, both new and more experienced dancers.

Entrance fee 1.500,- NB! The Try-out class is included in the entrance fee.
1.000 ,- for members of Tangófélagið. Subscribers do not pay an entrance fee.

The evening is dedicated to new dancers and organized by Tangóstudio in collaboration with Tangófélagið.

First step milonga
 is held 4-6 times a year and is dedicated to new dancers. The goal of the evening is to get to know social dancing, meet other dancers and enjoy an evening together. All welcome, both new and experienced dancers.
Experienced dancers please keep the following in mind:
  • Adjust to the level of the person you are dancing with, both those who lead and those who follow.
  • Never „teach“ the person you dance with at a milonga, nor give feedback on a performance.
  • Participate in games / events like other guests.

    To find Kramhúsið:
    As you stand on the corner of Skólavörðustígur and Bergstaðastræti look for the car park facilities at  Bergstaðastræti 6.  On the other side of the road, walk up a small alley (the one on the left, decorated with a pink bird), and you will see Kramhúsið.

Our Tango DJs: The Musical Architects of Milonga Magic

TDJ Sóley is a community-focused DJ bringing a welcoming atmosphere to Monday milongas, embodying a collaborative spirit that has sustained Iceland’s intimate tango scene.

TDJ Helgi G is a nurturing DJ known for introducing newcomers to tango, creating inclusive environments where dancers explore passionate embrace and connection.

DJ Hlynur “El Arce” Helgason is one of Iceland’s most experienced tango DJs with 100+ milongas, master of golden age sound using professional-grade equipment and authentic selections.

TDJ Þórður is a dedicated contributor to Tangófélagið’s programming, supporting an authentic tango atmosphere through carefully curated selections and a collaborative community approach.

Hljómsveitin Mandólín – Iceland’s Premier Tango Ensemble

The band Mandólín plays world music from here, there and everywhere, such as Argentinian tangos, klezmer, Icelandic classics, dances from the Faroe islands and much more.

The band consists of Ástvaldur Traustason and Sigríður Ásta Árnadóttir playing the accordion, Guðrún Árnadóttir and Elísabet Indra Ragnarsdóttir on the violin, Óskar Sturluson playing guitar and bouzouki, Martin Kollmar on the clarinet and Bjarni Bragi Kjartansson on the contrabass. All members of this wonderful band share the singing.

Tangóhljómsveit Bergljótar Arnalds – Fresh Vision for Icelandic Tango
Tangóhljómsveit Bergljótar Arnalds brings innovative energy to Iceland’s tango scene, blending classic Argentine rhythms with Nordic artistic vision. Led by acclaimed actress and vocalist Bergljót Arnalds, this talented sextet features Birgir Þórisson (piano), Ásgeir Ásgeirsson (guitar), Guðbjörg Hlín Guðmundsdóttir (violin), Linda Munda (accordion), and Gunnar Hrafnsson (bass).
