Ætlað þeim sem hafa aldrei dansað tangó áður eða tekið einn eða fleiri kynningartíma. 
Intended for those who have never danced tango before or taken one or more try out lessons.

Tveir hópar i boði, sun kl. 16.40 eða mán. kl. 20. Fyrir þá sem hafa lokið Byrjendur 1 eða 3ja daga sumarnámskeiði. 
Two groups available, Sun at 16.40 or Mon at 20.00. For those who have completed the Beginners 1 or 3-day summer course.

Intermediate
Fyrir þá sem hafa lokið byrjendastigi eða hafa dansað í amk. 6 mánuði. Hentar einnig þeim sem hafa dansað áður og langar að rifja upp. 
For those who have completed the beginner level or have danced for at least 6 months. Also suitable for those who have danced before and want to refresh their knowledge.

 Advanced
Fyrir reynda dansara sem hafa sótt í kennslu í amk tvö ár eða lengur og dansa reglulega. 
For experienced dancers who have attended lessons for at least two years or more and dance regularly.

TANGÓMARAÞON 28.–30. október 2022

Tangómaraþon verður haldið að Hallveigarstöðum og í Kramhúsinu helgina 28.–30. október 2022.

The Tangomarathon will take place at Kramhúsið (Friday) and Hallveigarstaðir (Saturday & Sunday) on the weekend of October 28th – 30th, 2022.

Venues:
Kramhúsið is at Skólavörðustígur 12 (off Bergstaðastræti).
To find it: As you stand on the corner of Skólavörðustígur and Bergstaðastræti look for the car park facilities at
Bergstaðastræti 6.  On the other side of the road walk up a small alley (the one on the left, decorated with a pink bird) and you will see Kramhúsið.

Tango on Ice hátíðin verður næst haldin dagana 21.–24. september 2017 í Iðnó og í Norræna húsinu.

Gestir hátíðarinnar verða tvö afburða tangopör Maja Petrovic & Marko Miljevic annars vegar og Bryndís Halldórsdóttir & Hany Hadaya hins vegar.  Þau sýna tangó á hátíðinni og kenna 6 námskeið hvort par.

Aðal-DJ hátíðarinnar verður Michael Lavocah og auk hans verða innlendir DJ-ar: Bryndís Halldórsdóttir, Stefán Snorri Stefánsson, Heiðar Rafn Harðarson, Svana Valdsóttir, Laura Valentino og Hlynur Helgason.

Every year Tango Club Reykjavik organizes a festival called
Tango on Ice.  This year it will take place on September 21 – 24 in Iðnó by Tjörnin lake in the centre of Reykjavík and at the Nordic House.

Highly respected and admired tango dancers and teachers are always invited to participate and this year is no exception.

We are very happy that two brilliant tango couples, Maja Petrovic & Marko Miljevic and Bryndís Halldórsdóttir & Hany Hadaya, will be visiting us.

Each pair will give a show and teach 6 workshops.  Michael Lavocah will be the most prominent DJ but besides him there will be Icelandic DJs:  Bryndís Halldórsdóttir, Stefán Snorri Stefánsson, Heiðar Rafn Harðarson, Svana Valdsóttir, Laura Valentino and Hlynur Helgason.

There are great number of hotels and hostels close to the venue – we suggest search on hotels.com and booking.com. Lately, Airbnb has become increasingly popular in Iceland, especially in or near Reykjavik center, so that is another possibility. Lastly, there are club members who offer free accommodation – with whom you can establish contact through a Facebook page: Facebook accommodation search

Tango on Ice venues

The festival is held in two places this year, in Iðnó and the Nordic House in Reykjavík.

Iðnó

The main ballroom on the ground floor of iðnó.

Iðnó is a beautiful historical building, built in 1897 as a city theatre and reconstructed in its original form in 1997. It remains as it was in 1897, a testament to the grand vision of Iceland’s artisans.  There is a wooden floor in main room that loves the touch of your dancing shoes.

On second floor (afternoon milongas) is a comfortable sprung vinyl floor.  Iðnó is located right in the city centre just beside the Reykjavík pond. A wide selection of restaurants, hotels and guesthouses are in the neighbourhood.

The Nordic House

The Nordic House in Reykjavík is a cultural institution opened in 1968 and operated by the Nordic Council of Ministers. Its goal is to foster and support cultural connections between Iceland and the other Nordic countries. To this end the Nordic House organizes a diverse program of cultural events and exhibitions. The Nordic House is designed by acclaimed Finnish modernist architect Alvar Aalto (1898-1976). The house is one of his later works, a hidden gem among the better known masterpieces, and features most of Aalto’s signature traits.

Milonga El Cramo

ENGLISH BELOW.

Kramhúsið, Skólavörðustíg 12, (gengið inn frá  Bergstaðastræti) er eitt af þessum leynihúsum í miðbænum, sem er  mikið stærra að innan en að utan svo undrun vekur. Frá Bergstaðastræti er gengið inn um port, upp á blómum skrýddan pall og inn í lítið garðhús. Þar fyrir innan leynist eitt af bestu dansgólfum bæjarins og Milonga El Cramo. Hingað koma bæði þaulvanir dansarar og nýgræðingar í fótmenntinni til að æfa sig, dansa og spjalla.  Á hverjum föstudegi frá kl. 21–24 er Practica og síðan milonga í Kramhúsinu.
